Second in Green Chamber Health Care Series: Plan Options and Designs for Small Businesses - July 22, 2010

How does a business choose a health care plan? What plan options and designs are important to you and your employees? Is there a plan that will help control costs while still providing adequate health care coverage? The speakers at this month's Green Chamber of Commerce Health Care Forum will provide answers to these questions and more.

Among the speakers at this month's event will be Mike Furcolow, Director of Provider Relations, from AultCare. Last month Mike was the keynote speaker and presented "The Impact of the Recently Passed Health Care Bill on Your Business". This was well received by all the businesses in attendance. Lisa Teague from BCT Ohio commented "The Chamber of Commerce Health Care presentation ... gave us the facts, without the hysteria that seems to always accompany the opposing positions. There are still a lot of unanswered questions, but I felt this was a good starting point to understanding the legislation and its implications."

This month Mike Furcolow will support the other speakers with the goal of integrating the reform legislation into plan design. The keynote role will be shared by two organizations, BE Solutions and North West Services Group. Both these organizations provide a variety of plan options for small businesses, including self-funded and partially self-funded plans, Flexible Spending Accounts, and Cafeteria 125 Plans. By the end of the forum, HR decision makers will be acquainted with plan options and able to ask questions of their brokers that will reduce costs to their business and maintain or increase benefits for their employees.

Mark your calendars now for the third and final Health Care Series Event in which the question to be answered is: How can small businesses establish health and wellness initiatives without building a facility?
